Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSW)
Canada’s premier program for worker immigration, the Federal Skilled Worker Program, allows the nation to accept thousands of immigrants each year based on their potential to integrate into the workforce.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates with skilled work experience in Canada are eligible for the Federal Skilled Worker Program. It includes:
- Managerial jobs (skill type 0)
- Professional jobs (skill level A)
- Technical jobs and skilled trades (skill level B)

skilled work experience, language ability and education are the two other minimum requirements for this program.
Factors Influencing Federal Skilled Worker Program Selection in Canada:
- Education: Must have earned a high school diploma in Canada or an equivalent level of education. You will require an Educational Credentials Assessment (ECA) certifying the worth of your education in accordance with Canadian standards if you completed your education outside of Canada.
- Work experience: Candidates must possess at least 12 months of full-time, skilled work experience, or an equivalent number of part-time hours. This training needs to be ongoing and in a single profession.
- Language Proficiency: You must pass an approved language test to demonstrate your proficiency in either English or French. The minimum FSW score is equal to the Canadian Language Benchmark of Level 7 (CLB 7), but the higher your score, the more likely you are to succeed.
These factors are a 100-point base grid that is used to determine the applicant’s eligibility. To be eligible for the program, you only need 67 points.
