Spousal Work Permit
Your spouse or common-law partner may apply for an open work permit if you are an international student who is enrolled full-time and has a current study permit. No job offer is necessary for your spouse or partner to apply, and his or her permit will be valid for the same time frame as your study permit.
A work permit that is open to all jobs is known as an open work permit. Your spouse or common-law partner is free to accept any position from any employer. In most cases, your spouse’s or partner’s open work permit is good for the same amount of time as your study permits.
The work permit of your spouse or common-law partner will be valid for the same period as your study permit.
